Pre-Primary Weekly Memo
14 March 2025
Dear Parents
This week, we marked a special milestone as the school celebrated its 45th birthday. The children enjoyed a cheerful sing-along show, followed by the excitement of cutting the birthday cake and sharing a sweet treat. It was a lovely way to celebrate the school’s journey and create happy memories together.
We asked a few children what they love most about our school…
Mikai - I like the painting
Baeli - I like the crafting
Princess - I like art class because today we made a butterfly
Iman-Genesis - I love the food that Chef Kerry makes
Mutsa - The classes have nice toys!
Emeri - Everything!
MJ - Cake!
Lihle - I like playing with the playdough in the class and colouring
Avalon - I like going to the big field and playing with the water play toys

Feedback Meetings
As the quarter draws to a close, we would like to take the opportunity to thank all the parents for their support throughout.
We invite parents to a feedback meeting with your child’s class teacher. Click on the class links below to choose a preferred date and time. We encourage every parent to take the time to book and diarise a feedback meeting. This is a very important meeting in terms of your child’s progress and finding out more about their days at school. It is also a wonderful opportunity to have the teacher’s undivided attention and focus on your child. It is a vital aspect of the home-school partnership and it greatly assists each child’s development and progress when we work as a team.

Hat Policy
As the weather remains hot, we kindly ask all parents to ensure that their children wear a hat when playing outside, especially during outdoor activities such as extra-murals. The sun is very harsh, and protecting our children's skin is a priority. To encourage this, we are reintroducing the ‘No Hat, No Play’ rule.
Please also ensure that your child has a layer of sunblock applied each morning. Teachers will reapply sunblock before outdoor play.
Thank you for your support!
Water Bottles
We have noticed that many children do not have water bottles at school. Please ensure that your child brings a clearly labeled water bottle each day. Staying hydrated is essential, especially in the heat, and having their own bottle makes it easier for teachers to encourage regular water breaks.
Cake Sale
A heartfelt thank you to our amazing parents for your support in making the cake sale a wonderful success! Your generosity brought big smiles to the children’s faces, and they truly enjoyed their special treats.
Outreach
Easter is a time of joy, kindness, and giving, and we’re excited to announce our Easter Egg Drive to bring smiles to both the elderly at Ria Abel Old Age Home and the children at Elundini Centre.
We will be collecting Easter egg donations throughout March and April, and we would love your support! Whether it’s a small chocolate egg or a big bundle, every contribution will help make Easter extra special for those in need.
Thank you for making a difference!

Library Adventure
An ever-growing series by author Gemma Cary assists young children with dealing with big emotions while navigating challenging situations. These lovable animal characters face a range of emotions: feeling left out, being worried, learning about manners, feeling shy, telling the truth, being scared… There is a story for any imaginable situation, told in delightful rhyme. An added treat is a QR Code allowing access to the audio book - perfect for those sleepy bedtimes. We are including a story for you to try. Enjoy!
