Pre-Primary Weekly Memo
30 September 2024
Dear Parents
We look forward to welcoming all the children back to school on Wednesday 2 October and hope they had a good little break. We would like to thank all of our amazing staff who always work throughout the holidays to ensure everything is clean, prepared and ready for the children.
We have a very busy and short quarter ahead and we are looking forward to many exciting events like the ‘Peter Rabbit’ concert and the Grade R Graduation. Thank you to all the parents who joined us for report feedback meetings at the end of last quarter and celebrated their little one’s growth. Please email your child’s class teacher, should you wish to discuss their progress and were unable to attend these meetings. The Spring Quarter extra mural activities have been finalised and will commence on Wednesday, 2 October.
Jurassic Adventures
Realistic dinosaur puppets that walk, roar, have eyes that blink, and mouths that open will be visiting the school. Two tactile activities will include the learners making their fossils and uncovering a replica T-Rex skeleton in the dig boxes using magnifying glasses and brushes just like real palaeontologists. The amount of R120 will be debited to your account.
2 October: Grade R (Kangas, Owls, Rabbits)
3 October: Grade 00 (Pooh Bears, Roos)

Monthly Cake Sale
Each grade has the opportunity to contribute to their grade cake sale, and there is much excitement as the children eagerly look forward to their little monthly treat.
We request that items such as cupcakes, popcorn, crisps, muffins, etc. be sent to the class on their allocated cake sale date. We also recommend that your child spend no more than R2 at the cake sale to save some appetite for lunch! You are welcome to send the term’s money in advance (i.e. 3 x R2 coins) or send in the R2 on cake sale days in a sealed envelope/packet. Please ensure that items donated for cake sales do not contain nuts and that no sweets are sent in. We love healthy goodies, especially popcorn!
