Dear Parents
It’s hard to believe we’ve already reached this time of the year! As we look back, it’s truly heartwarming to see just how much the children have grown — not only in their learning but in confidence, friendships, and independence.
The final weeks of the year are always filled with excitement — from outings to in-school activities, and of course, our much-anticipated Grade R Graduation taking place on Friday, 21 November. This special event marks a significant milestone as we celebrate our little ones as they prepare to end their preschool journey and take their first big step into Grade 1 in 2026.
We look forward to sharing in this joyous occasion with you and celebrating the wonderful growth and achievements of our children.

As we look ahead to a brand-new year, our class placement process is already underway. Our primary goal is to create a balanced environment where each little one can thrive. To do this, we carefully consider every child’s class placement with thought and intention.
Our team of teachers and management thoughtfully review each child’s emotional, social, and academic needs, as well as the social dynamics within the group, to ensure that every learner is placed in the best possible setting for the year ahead. This is a mammoth task, involving many hours of collaboration and careful discussion.
While we understand that some parents may have preferences, we ask that you trust in our teachers’ expertise and our commitment to placing each child where they will feel supported, confident, and happy. Every decision is made with great care to ensure the best fit for your child’s continued growth and development.
📋 Class lists will be displayed in the Pre-Primary reception on Monday, 1 December 2025.
Domino Day helps children feel confident and excited about the year ahead. They get to spend some time in their new classroom environment and meet their teacher.
Each child’s class placement and introduction are made with careful thought and consideration, ensuring that they feel comfortable, supported, and ready to take their next big step.
We look forward to seeing the smiles, curiosity, and excitement as our children begin imagining all the fun learning adventures that await them next year!

This week, our little tots had such a lovely time exploring creativity and learning about healthy habits. They started off with free drawing, proudly sharing their pictures and stories with us — always a highlight!
We then spent some time chatting about looking after our bodies. The children practised washing their hands and faces, learned why it’s important to stay active, and had great fun joining in with simple movement exercises. We also spoke about eating colourful fruits and veggies, drinking enough water, and keeping safe in the sun by wearing hats and sunscreen.
It’s been a wonderful week, and we’ve really enjoyed watching them learn, grow, and enjoy every moment.
This week, our theme was “Keeping Our Bodies Healthy”, and we learned all about the importance of keeping ourselves clean - especially our hands!
During art time, the children created beautiful pictures to show the importance of washing our hands. They used ear buds dipped in blue paint to make little water droplets coming out of a tap and falling onto a cut-out image of their own hand. This creative activity helped the children explore how water helps wash away germs, while also practising their fine motor skills as they carefully dabbed each droplet.
We had lovely discussions about when and why we wash our hands - before eating, after playing outside, and after using the toilet. The children were so proud of their artworks and showed great understanding that clean hands help keep our bodies healthy and strong!
We were so proud of how wonderfully our little Tiggers and Piglets performed in the year-end concert! Our shining stars absolutely loved spotting their family members in the audience and beaming with pride as they sang and danced their hearts out.
This week, the Tiggers extended their exciting Space theme, as after the concert's excitement, there was still so much to explore and discover! They delighted in creating multi-layered space artworks, using painting, stamping, gluing, and collage techniques to bring their masterpieces to life. At the sensory table, their vivid imaginations ran wild as they designed the most marvellous space creatures. When they built their very own rocket ships from chairs, cushions, and blankets, the countdown to blast-off filled the classroom with excitement—many Tiggers decided they would love to be astronauts!
Meanwhile, our curious Piglets have been travelling the world! They are learning about different countries and creating their very own world collage by tearing and sticking colourful paper. Their enthusiasm and creativity make every “trip” an adventure to remember.
What a magical week it has been, filled with imagination, laughter, and the joy of learning together!
What a magical week of adventure we’ve had at Honey Bees House. Our little explorers set off on a journey around the world, discovering fascinating countries, delicious foods, colorful cultural dress, famous landmarks, and amazing animals. For art, we packed our handmade suitcases, stamped our passports, and “flew” to distant lands, our imaginations soaring high. The Continent Song was an absolute favorite, filling our classroom with rhythm and joy.
This week, we also explored early operations, sound and rhythm, and patterns, essential building blocks for developing logical thinking and a love for learning in our curious Honey Bees. During data handling, we voted on where we’d most love to travel, Turkey was the winning destination, with many friends dreaming of floating high above Cappadocia in colorful hot air balloons!
Fun Fact: In Cappadocia, hundreds of balloons rise into the sky each morning at sunrise during the Hot Air Balloon Festival, painting the sky with beautiful colours. Iit looks just like a storybook come to life. What a wonderful week of wonder, learning, and laughter.
This week, the Pooh Bears House were very creative using air-dry clay to make their very own Table Mountains! This medium can be quite a challenge for little hands, as it’s firm and requires plenty of strength and perseverance to shape. The children carefully created the flat top, along with the peaks of Signal Hill and Devil’s Peak. Once their masterpieces had dried, they painted their mountains with watercolours in beautiful rainbow shades — some inspired by a stunning Cape Town sunset and others by the natural tones of the mountain itself.
What a moo-velous week we’ve had in Kanga’s House! 🐄 Our theme was dairy farming. We discovered what happens before milk arrives on the shop shelves and explored all the delicious dairy products it can become. The Kangas put their artistic skills to the test by drawing cows, and wow — what udderly amazing results! We then became little detectives, searching through pamphlets to spot all sorts of dairy goodies. To top it all off, we dove back into swimming this week!
The children absolutely loved splashing in the cool water, blowing bubbles, and showing off their super swimming skills after the long winter break. I am so proud of every single Kanga for their enthusiasm, creativity, and effort, what a fantastic week it’s been!
This week, The Owls House explored Six Bricks excitingly and creatively! Working in pairs, the children used their imagination and problem-solving skills to design and build their very own robots using the colourful bricks.
Each robot had to have a specific function, and the children eagerly explained what their robot could do — from cleaning rooms to flying to the moon! It was wonderful to see their creativity, collaboration, and communication skills as they shared and demonstrated their inventions.
Learning through play continues to inspire curiosity and confidence in our young innovators!
Like little humans, sometimes this adorable baby sloth is not quite ready for bed, and will find many excuses to delay her bedtime. Follow along as she follows her bedtime rituals - brushing teeth and putting on pyjamas. However, she is not ready to settle down yet. She wants to say goodnight to her friend the moon, followed by singing a lullaby to the birds. And just when you think she is finally ready for sleep, this little lady decides that her hungry tummy needs a snack.
This beautifully illustrated book by Danielle McLean is the perfect bedtime story for even our youngest children. When they get a little older and more curious, you can also chat about the fascinating world of sloths.

Dear Parents
The Junior Preparatory Faculty cannot wait to welcome your little one to Grade 1 in 2026. I look forward to getting to know them and will visit their class near the end of the year to read a story and introduce myself.
Although the children will have a "pop in" during the school day to meet their teacher on Wednesday 26 November, there will also be a special Orientation for them to spend some time with their teachers on Friday, 16 January 2026 from 8:30 - 9:30. During this time we invite parents to join us for a Parent Meeting which will outline important information about the daily activities and requirements in Grade One.
The Grade One school day begins promptly at 08:00 (school opens at 07:30 for drop-off) and ends at 14:00. However, to support our Grade Ones in adjusting to the change in routine, their school day will end at 12:00 from Tuesday 20 January to Friday 23 January. If your child is enrolled in aftercare, they will stay with their teachers until aftercare starts at 14:00. From the following week, school ends every day at 14:00, and you may collect your children from their classrooms or aftercare. Sport will start on Tuesday 27 January 2026 and takes place on a Tuesday and Thursday from 13:00 to 14:00, during the school day. On these days as well as PE days the learners may come to school dressed in their PE Kit. Please note that the learners all swim in their classes during PE.
If your child is unable to swim, please enrol them in a reputable swim school. Class-specific timetables will be shared by the teacher, and the sporting and extramural programme on offer will be sent to parents in our Weekly Memo.
Please refer to the Welcome Letter, Frequently Asked Questions, Stationery and Textbook (Caxtons) letter and list as well as Uniform (sport clothes are worn at least twice a week) and iPad Requirements and Discount Voucher. Books DO NOT need to be covered as the children will make the covers in class and the teachers will cover the books with the slip-on plastic covers. In addition to this please ensure your child has a combination lock, an old T-shirt to use for art and a set of headphones compatible with their iPad.
